Baked Ham and Cheese Sandwiches
Some recipes don’t need much introduction. This would be one of those recipes. These soft, buttery ham-and-cheese sandwiches are crazy delicious and best eaten with your fingers and a stack of napkins. They are perfect for an appetizer, savory brunch item, or just a quick dinner.
And man, they seriously couldn’t be easier to make. Assemble some ham-and-cheese sandwiches in a large baking dish before brushing them with a butter-and-mustard sauce. This takes maybe 5 minutes? Let them sit for awhile before popping them in the oven. The bottoms will be buttery crisp, the insides cheesy hot, and the tops buttery soft.

Baked Ham & Cheese Sandwiches
2 pkgs. (24 rolls total) small dinner rolls (like Trader Joe’s Pull-Apart Dinner Rolls or King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls)
8 oz. sliced ham
8 oz. sliced cheese (Swiss, Cheddar)
1/2 c. butter, melted
1 1/2 t. Dijon mustard
1 T. dried onion flakes
1 1/2 T.
- Slice rolls in half horizontally in one large piece (don’t separate). Place bottom layers in a (9-11 x 13″).
- Place ham & cheese slices all over the surface of the bottom slice of all rolls. Replace top slices.
- Place butter in a microwave-safe bowl. Add mustard, Worcestershire sauce, onion flakes, and poppy seeds. Stir to combine. Pour and brush over the top of the rolls. Cover with foil and let stand for 20 minutes (on the counter) – overnight (in the refrigerator).
- Bake at 350-degrees for 20-30 minutes.
